More hotel options are available for the LERN Annual Conference. Many LERN Annual Conference registrants have asked about overflow hotel options and we have several for you.

You may choose to stay at the same hotel for the duration of the conference, or transfer hotels. If you do decide to transfer, LERN can store your luggage. While LERN has not booked room blocks at these hotels, LERN's Conference planner has personally visited all of the hotel options listed below:

  • Hilton San Francisco Financial District, 750 Kearny Street, 800-424-8292 for reservations. The Hilton Financial District is only a short walk from the Hyatt and was the overflow hotel for the LERN conference in 2008. As of today, room rates at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District are only $152 per night, less than the conference hotel.
  • Hilton San Francisco Union Square, 333 O'Farrell Street, 800-424-8292 for reservations. This hotel is about a 22-minute walk to the Hyatt or a 10 minute ride by streetcar down Market Street, and just 3 blocks from Union Square.  They are offering a rate of $149 per night with the ability to cancel 1 day prior to arrival.
  • Holiday Inn Express San Francisco Airport South, 1250 Bayshore Highway, 800-439-4745 for reservations. This hotel has rooms under $200 including breakfast, and free wi-fi, as of today.  The hotel has a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport, which is also the location of the nearest BART station.  All guest rooms have just been renovated.
  • SW Hotel, 315 Broadway, 888-595-9188 for reservations. This is a small 81-room hotel with an Asian motif. This is the hotel where LERN placed most of its staff the night they arrived in order to give attendees more rooms at the Hyatt.  The hotel is located where Chinatown and North Beach intersect just steps from Columbus Avenue, and is about a 15-minute walk to the Hyatt.  LERN recommends making your reservation online for this hotel.  Rates start at $109 for a twin bedded room and $129 for a double bedded rooms.
  • Cornell Hotel de France, 715 Bush Street, 415-421-3154 for reservations. A charming, 50-room hotel that makes you feel like you are in France.  Continental breakfast is included in the rate and also in the hotel is Restaurant Jeanne D'Arc.  It is located just steps from Powell street which means if you buy a MUNI pass you can ride the cable car to California Street then transfer to the California line which takes you directly to the Hyatt.  It is about a 20-minute walk to the Hyatt.  It is also just two blocks from Union Square.  LERN recommends making your reservation online for this hotel.  Rates range from about $130 to $150.
  • Golden Gate Hotel, 775 Bush Street, 800-835-1118 for reservations. A delightful, small hotel with 25 rooms and a bed and breakfast feel.  Continental breakfast is included in the rate.  It is located just one half block from Powell Street which means if you buy a MUNI pass you can ride the cable car to California Street then transfer to the California line which takes you directly to the Hyatt.  It is about a 20-minute walk to the Hyatt.  It is also just two blocks from Union Square.  LERN recommends making your reservation online for this hotel.  Rates are $135 for a twin or double bedded room with a shared bathroom down the hall, or $190 for a room with twin beds or one queen and a private bath.  Please note that at this hotel, your credit card will be charged in advance for the entire stay.
