Welcome to the LERN Conference! Welcome to the first day of the LERN Conference!

Welcome to the most exciting week of the year in lifelong learning!  This is the only conference where you can meet and get fresh ideas from continuing education and lifelong learning professionals in institutions other than your own. Enjoy the interaction.

Avoid the Rush: Register today

Registration is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Avoid the Thursday morning rush and lines, register today and save some time.

You’re invited! Come to the Leader Retreat today

You are invited and welcome to attend the LERN Leader Retreat today, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in room Garden B.

If you are attending a pre-conference seminar, come after it ends. If you are interested in participating in this planning session, please join us.

Under Age 36?

Meet with our Future Leaders Council from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in room Garden B. Then sign up to get a Mentor, a new no-fee service from your LERN leaders.

All-Conference Reception

All conference participants are invited to the All-Conference Reception from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today in the Exhibit Hall, room Pacific A-K. The reception has a San Francisco 60s theme, celebrating the 50th year since the Free University Movement in Berkeley, which led to the creation of LERN.

Some Tickets Left

A few tickets are available to the private President’s reception. The $20 ticket includes sparkling water, wine and cheese. The reception is at 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. All are welcome. Check the Publications booth for tickets.

MAKE DINNER RESERVATIONS NOW!

With a big convention in town this week, we recommend making restaurant reservations now for tonight and other nights of the week. You can make reservations online at Opentable.com.

Get to know the hotel today

Tomorrow the pace picks up. This is the day to figure out where the general sessions and the Exhibit Hall are, and how to get around the hotel.

First Timer?

We're glad you're here! This is a unique conference with practical, how-to information unlike any other. We have a special session today from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. just for First Timers (though everyone is welcome). You will get tips on how to make the most of the conference, including benchmarks & terms. Plus take home a FREE copy of our book “The Essentials.” There is no charge to attend this session.
